Melbourne Polytechnic to give photographers a ‘shot’ at success

30 Jun 2014

Melbourne Polytechnic is getting behind a great City of Stonnington photo competition.

The 'Shot in the Dark' photographic competition is part of the City of Stonnington’s ‘Glow Winter Arts Festival’ (August 14 – 24, 2014)

Photographers – amateur, student and professional – are invited to explore the city of Stonnington to reveal its character, shapes and lights at night, creating images that enable viewers to see Stonnington in a different illumination.

As a leading provider of photography training in the Stonnington region, including the Certificate IV and Diploma of Photoimaging, Melbourne Polytechnic is lending its support to this great opportunity for photographers by donating some great competition prizes including:

  • Melbourne Polytechnic Gallery Hire opportunity awarded to ‘Best Photograph’ across all categories (conditions apply)
  • Melbourne Polytechnic Studio & Equipment Hire will be offered to a photographer the judges consider ‘Most Promising Photographer’ (conditions apply)

Melbourne Polytechnic Photoimaging teacher, Joel Rainford, will also sit on the judging panel along with internationally recognised photographer, Misho Baranovic, and a representative from the City of Stonnington.

"This is a fantastic opportunity to enable photographers to showcase images via the exciting augmented reality experience,” said Melbourne Polytechnic Photoimaging teaching, Joel Rainford. “Melbourne Polytechnic’s photoimaging course is an innovative and practical industry-based program so we are excited to be part of this competition and highly innovative way of exhibiting photographs.”
