David Bowie fans can channel their idol this weekend, thanks to the Melbourne Polytechnic Diploma of Specialist Makeup Services staff and students.
On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September, people who visit the "Total Bowie" special event can have their faces made-up in Bowie's signature "Ziggy Stardust" style in the "Ziggy Me: Bowie Duffy Photoshoot".
"Total Bowie" is part of the "David Bowie is" exhibition at the Australian Centre for Moving Images (ACMI), and is a special weekend of music, performance, films and workshops dedicated to the Thin White Duke.
Our Diploma of Specialist Makeup Services is designed for people who are interested in working as a make-up artist, special make-up effects artist freelance for TV, or as a make-up artist in theatre and film.
ACMI's “David Bowie is” exhibition is a ‘spectacular, multi-sensory exhibition’ that has travelled exclusively from London’s Victoria and Albert Museum to our shores. It features everything a David Bowie fan could hope to find, including costumes, stage set designs, handwritten lyric sheets, rare film, album artwork, photos, video, and much more.
“David Bowie is” runs until 1 November at ACMI. For full details, refer to the ACMI website.
