About the Role

We are very excited to announce that Melbourne Polytechnic is seeking to appoint experienced, innovative and qualified individuals to fill 2 positions of Business Analyst to work within our newly formed Enterprise Development and Strategy Team.

Your primary objectives will be:

  • Design and implement high quality systems and tools to effectively acquire and analyse external market data and internal data to support decision making on Strategy and Development projects.

  • Provide report and advice to support management of the Institute in making evidence –based decisions on matters of importance including strategic decisions.

About You

The successful applicant will possess the following:

Key Technical Competencies

  • Excellent level of computer literacy including demonstrated proficiency with one or more statistical software packages such as SPSS or Excel (must have experience in using complex formulas and macros); experience in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Power Point, and database management skills.

  • Demonstrated excellent level of knowledge and skills in survey analysis and in ethical statistical principles and practice.

  • Demonstrated excellent analytical skills particularly in the interpretation, statistical analysis and reporting of quantitative data.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, Anti-Discrimination, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement.

Qualifications, Licenses and Experience

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification together with significant experience in data analysis and market research in industry focused education and training.

The salary will be $100,000 per annum plus employer superannuation contribution.


1 x Ongoing, Full- Time 38 hours per week

1 x Fixed Term Contract, Full-Time 38 hours per week
