About the role

NMIT is seeking to appoint an innovative, qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of  Assistant Stud Manager. You will be a hardworking and enthusiastic professional with excellent subject knowledge.

Your primary objective will be:

Assist in the management of daily operations at Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE’s (NMIT) “Northern Lodge Stud”.

About You

The successful applicant will be a hardworking and enthusiastic  professional with:

  • A relevant industry qualification or extensive experience in the horse breeding industry.
  • Extensive experience in the handling and care of Thoroughbred stallions, mares and progeny.
  • Demonstrated capacity to safely carryout effective maintenance procedures within a horse breeding facility, including tractor operations, farm fencing experience and thorough knowledge of small machinery and equipment relevant to the industry.
  • A current Victorian Driver’s License. A medium rigid endorsement would be an advantage.

$65,675 p.a. which includes the rental of a 3 bedroom house on site. The remuneration also covers any out of hours work that applies to a functioning horse stud.
