Attendee Information – Health Services Assistance

Thanks for registering to attend one of Melbourne Polytechnic’s Health Services Assistance Information and Selection Session. This will provide you an opportunity to sit down with our teachers and view our facilities. 

You will also have the opportunity to complete any necessary testing related to your course such as a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy test and interview. These are designed to assess your suitability for the course you have applied for. 

You will not be able to enrol at this session however it is a step towards enrolment, so we suggest you start to organise the following documents in preparation for enrolment:

BEFORE YOU ENROL

Regardless of what you decide to study, there are some activities that need to be completed in order to meet government regulations. We recommend that you prepare yourself for study by completing the following activities online before you attend an enrolment session: 

  1. Create a Unique Student Identifier (USI) online (if you do not already have one)

    All students enrolling from 1st January 2015 will be required to obtain a Unique Student Identifier which will contain all your nationally recognised training records. It is free and easy for you to create your own.

  2. Have you completed your e-form application?

    If you haven’t already done so, it’s important to complete your e-form application using the reference number included in the confirmation email sent to you after registering to attend.

WHEN YOU ENROL

  1. Proof of Citizenship, Residency, Age and Concession status (Original or Certified copies only)

    1. Proof of Citizenship/Residency: (Current Green Medicare Card; Australian Birth Certificate; Current Australian Passport; or Naturalisation Certificate) 
    2. Proof of Age 
    3. Concession Card, if you have one: Find out more about Concession Cards 
       
  2. Other Information required to complete your enrolment:

    1. Tax File Number (if applying for VET FEE-HELP) 
    2. Your Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (if applying for VET FEE-HELP and any Diploma or above level courses)
    3. Learling, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment. This will be completed as part of the enrolment process.
       
  3. Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) Documentation

    Please bring along any official (original) documentation of educational prior learning along to the session. RPL is an assessment process through which you can gain entry or credit to a Certificate or Diploma, based on the skills you have gained through life, work experience and training (other than) nationally accredited training courses and programs.

  4. Download your Parking Permit and display on your dashboard if you are driving

    If you are planning to drive to your session, on campus parking is provided for free. Simply print, complete and display the below permit. If you are unable to do this, simply show this email to the Gatehouse or main reception upon arrival to obtain a permit. Please park within the designated student parking area, or visitor bays. Failure to do so will result in a parking infringement being issued.

    NB: Excludes Collingwood and Prahran campuses

CHOOSING THE RIGHT COURSE FOR YOU

Melbourne Polytechnic want to ensure you are enrolling in a suitable course. To help us determine your learning support needs, and depending on which course you are interested in, you will need to meet with either: 

  1. One of our Education and Course Advisor team members

    OR

  2. Someone from the School / Teaching Department responsible for the delivery of the course

Who will:

  1. Conduct a Pre-Training Review with you – where they will discuss your course options and selection with you
     
  2. Print out and provide you with a copy of a Training Plan – which outlines the individual units which your course is comprised of

You will need to bring both the Pre-Training Review and Training Plan with you in order to finalise your enrolment.
