The Certificate IV in Residential Drafting is planned to include:

  • provide design solutions for private residential dwellings
  • use sketching presentation techniques to communicate design concepts
  • produce 2D Architectural drawings using CAD software
  • create technically projected views of Architectural design concepts

Having the opportunity to try a career field prior to leaving school allows students to make an informed choice of career direction rather than making the difficult choice after commencing further vocational training or studies at university level.

Achieve your dream while completing school. Melbourne Polytechnic offers selected units from the Certificate IV in Residential Drafting (partial completion) as part of its VET in Schools (VETiS) program, with results contributing to your ATAR score.

This course is designed to provide the opportunity to try a career field prior to leaving school, and allows you to make an informed choice for your career direction at the end of Year 12.

On completion of this program, students will have guaranteed entrance to the Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural).

Entrance Requirements

This course is open to Year 12 secondary students as part of the VET in Schools (VETiS) program.

Pathways to further study

On completion of this program, students will have guaranteed entrance to the Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural). This Advanced Diploma articulates into the Bachelor of Built Environment, with credit given for successful completion.
