Trade Support Loan (TSL) program
Australian apprentices undertaking this course may be eligible for the Commonwealth Government’s Trade Support Loan (TSL) program.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
You can seek RPL where your work or qualifications of an advanced and related nature have been undertaken. Academic Credit is granted on a case-by-case basis, according to our Academic Credit policy and associated procedures. Applications for Academic Credit will be assessed by relevant Melbourne Polytechnic academics and where appropriate, industry experts.

Assessment MethodsAssessment is done through a combination of practical and theory-based tasks. To complete a competency, you will be required to successfully complete an assessment for that competency. Please note - the Victorian Building Authority has its own licence assessment requirements that sit outside this course.
MaterialsWe will supply all training materials and the relevant Australian standards. You will need to supply your own basic writing materials, including notebook and pens
Entrance RequirementsTo undertake the Certificate IV subjects and be eligible for a VBA license, you must have completed a Certificate III in Plumbing or be a registered plumber.
Pathways to further studyAfter successfully completing this course you may be eligible to undertake the VBA license examination. Ask us about pathways to further vocational training or higher education from this qualification.
Career PathwaysAfter graduating from this course, your expanded skill set will make you an asset to any worksite in need of an experienced plumber. You will be able to work as a licensed plumber with an employer, or as a sub-contractor or contractor, or become a small business operator after being granted your VBA license.
