Interior Design VET in Schools (VETiS) program

Achieve your dream while completing school. Melbourne Polytechnic offers selected units from the Certificate IV in Interior Decoration (partial completion) as part of its VET in Schools (VETiS) program, with results contributing to your ATAR score.

This course is designed to provide the opportunity to try a career field prior to leaving school, and allows you to make an informed choice for your career direction at the end of year 12.

On completion of this program, students will have guaranteed entrance to complete the Certificate IV in Interior Decoration, which leads directly to the Diploma of Interior Design and Decoration.

Assessment Methods

Units are assessed in a variety of ways including tests, practical exercises, online assessment, case studies, demonstrations, observation or assignments.

Entrance Requirements

This course is open to Year 12 secondary students as part of Melbourne Polytechnic's VET in Schools (VETiS) program.

Pathways to further study

On completion of this program, students will have guaranteed entrance to complete the Certificate IV in Interior Decoration, and may progress to study the Diploma of Interior Decoration and Design.

Career Pathways

Graduates of this course may gain employment as assistant decoration consultants in specialised wholesale or retail outlets or with independent interior decoration/design consultancies.
