Gain practical training with this hands-on course to ensure you are an asset to any employer in your plastering career. This course is also available to students who do not have a formal apprenticeship agreement.
Melbourne Polytechnic is a leader in industry training, helping you develop the skills and knowledge you need as a plasterer. We take you through a wide range of tasks and teach the use of plastering materials for the construction industry, including:
- fixing standard plasterboard sheets
- cutting and fixing paper face cornices
- reading and interpreting plans and specifications
- fixing wet area sheets
- assembling partitions
- installing suspended ceilings
- installing ornamental architectural products

Train on full-sized projects at our Epping campus, boasting technologically advanced building and construction facilities. We also offer customised training programs and training on-site, and can make our delivery flexible to fit your business or work schedules.
As an apprentice, you will be working in the industry when not attending training.
After completing the Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining you will be qualified to gain full-time work in the plastering industry or be able to start your own business.
Assessment is ongoing throughout the course, with progressive testing. You can track your progress on-site using the new eProfiling app.

Entrance RequirementsNo formal entry requirements. Ideally, you should be employed as an apprentice plasterer. If you already have work experience in the plastering trade, you can complete the course through our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process
Pathways to further studyWhen successfully completed, progress in your career by enrolling in Quality Assure Fire-Rated Lining Systems or the Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building)
Career PathwaysAs a graduate of the Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining (Plastering), you will be able to gain full-time employment in the Plastering industry, or go on to start your own business
