Melbourne Polytechnic's Northern Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) is an inclusive, welcoming learning environment. It provides our new migrants with English language skills and information about Australian culture and society.
The AMEP is funded by the Commonwealth Government Department of Industry. It has been specifically designed for migrants who hold permanents visas. In addition to English language skills, we also have a vegetable garden where you can grow your own vegetables as part of your course.
We understand that integrating into a new culture and place can be both exciting and a bit overwhelming too. Our course can help you with the essentials like job searching and applying for work.
Skills for Education and Employment (SEE)
The Broadmeadows AMEP Centre is home to the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) which provides the opportunity to improve your English skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing) and maths skills for daily living in our community.
Melbourne Polytechnic works with Kangan and other local adult learning centres (such as Meadow Heights Learning Shop) to ensure you have access to local education. You can join the SEE by asking Centrelink or your jobactive agency for a referral.
Feel free to drop in for a chat. We are located on the corner of Blair and Belfast Street in Broadmeadows – we look forward to meeting you and seeing how we can help.
