Practical placements offer you a hands-on learning experience where you can grow your skills.
You’ll be given support in our work experience placements, (employers are offered this too), with regular follow ups to ensure the placement benefits everyone. You’ll sharpen your communication and decision- making skills and gain a practical insight into the expectations of an employer. Some of our students do such a fantastic job they are offered employment.
However, even if a job isn’t what you are looking for, these placements can get you into further study, volunteer work opportunities and a range of social and recreational activities. You’ll develop your communication, social skills, and travel and independence skills.
We have a dedicated practical placement team – headed by our experienced careers advisor. This team establishes and maintains partnerships with employers and networks, as well as community organisations such as the Disability Employment Services (DES), Local Learning and Employment Networks (LLENS) and local government.
