Basic Home Butchery covers the skills of knife sharpening and the processes involved in breaking down a sheep carcase. At the end of the course, participants will be able to break a mutton carcase into primal cuts and sharpen and maintain knives.

The Basic Home Butchery course features the following modules taken from Certificate III in Meat Processing training package:
MTMPSR203A sharpen knives
MTMSR301C break carcase into primal cuts
Duration: 2 days
This course will be run on weekends 9.30am – 4pm.
Fees range from:

Note: Protective clothing required, including fully enclosed footwear and warm clothes. Material fees could vary due to carcase price variation. Places are limited to 10 people per course.
