Maurizio Salvati

Maurizio who has been involved in photography for over thirty years works as a freelance photographer and exhibiting artist.

His photomedia works have been shown in Rome and Turin, Italy, Ballarat International Foto Biennale as well as galleries around Melbourne.

Maurizio also self-publishes photgraphic books, including "Lucky Land" featuring vignettes of suburban Melbourne and "Exposing Time" which features his intense photographic portraits. Working mostly in small series, Maurizio's art is often based on the objects, places and people that make up jis daily life.

Maurizio finds particular inspiration in the notion of the Family Album as a social record of the vernacular.

Maurizio holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts from Monash University in addition to a Diploma of Photoimaging from NMIT and has been teaching in the Photoimaging stream since 2001.

Maurizio is also currently upgrading his teaching qualifications with a Master of Education.
