Geoff's art practice encompasses painting, digital media, and occasionally music.
Born and bred in the UK, Geoff holds a Master of Arts (Fine Art) from the University of Central England, Birmingham, UK, a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Fine Art and Diploma of General Art & Design from West Surrey College of Fine Art, Farnham, UK. In 1995, Geoff headed for a warmer climate and after working in Sydney for five years, settled in Melbourne. He has worked here since 2002.
In his artwork, Geoff addresses ideas of migration, identity and place. Drawing impetus from Marshall McLuhan's maxim 'The Global Village", Geoff explores the concept of shrinking borders and the dilution of cultural differences.
In his paintings, representations of physical place collapse into abstract shape, simultaneously confounding seperations of public and private space.
Geoff has organised several curated shows, including "Five Miles from the Sea,"and "New Terrain". He brings his dynamism and verve to his teaching.
