About the Role
We are very excited to announce that Melbourne Polytechnic is seeking to appoint an experienced, innovative and qualified individual to fill the position of Occupational Health and Safety Officer.
Your primary objectives will be:
- Assist the Manager OH&S, WorkCover and Employee Wellbeing to provide information and advice to the Institute on all facets of OH&S matters.
- Assist the Manager OH&S, WorkCover and Employee Wellbeing in the administration of WorkCover and Return to Work processes.
- Assist the Manager OH&S, WorkCover and Employee Wellbeing to implement the total institute OH&S Employee Wellbeing strategy and to actively promote and co-ordinate wellbeing initiatives and programs.
The successful applicant will possess the following:
Key Technical Competencies:
Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to issues such as occupational health and safety, accident compensation, anti-discrimination and industrial relations.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Highly developed organisational skills together with the knowledge and commitment to effectively implement continuous improvement principles.
Extensive knowledge, skill and proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications including a computerized Human Resources system.
Qualification, Licenses and Experience
Relevant qualifications and/or experience in OH&S related field. First Aid Certificate preferred.
Please note that all short listed applicants will be required to undertake a variety of competency tests to demonstrate their ability to perform the role.

The salary will be in the range of $54,245 - $56,737 per annum plus superannuation.
Ongoing, Full- Time 38 hours per week.
