Possible Traffic Delays in Preston on Test Days
There are plans to upgrade the electricity distribution around the Melbourne Polytechnic Preston campus by the local provider.
Traffic management systems will be in place during the construction work which will restrict traffic flow and may affect your travelling time to the Preston campus on test days.
Roads that will be affected from August until November 2015 are: St Georges Road Preston, between Miller Street and Murray Road.
Please take this into consideration when planning your journey, as late arrivals cannot be admitted to the test room
You must arrive at the testing venue by 8:00 am for registration. You must bring your current valid passport – Candidates without a current passport will not be able to be admitted to the test.
The morning test session will commence at 9:00am and conclude at approximately 12:30pm. Candidates arriving after 9:00am will not be permitted into the test room
The morning session consists of 3 modules:
- Writing Test – 60 minutes
- Reading Test – 60 minutes
- Listening Test – 30 minutes (plus 10 minutes transferring time)
Candidates individual speaking tests may occur in the afternoon session between 13:00 – 17:00 with an examiner.
- Speaking Test – 11 to 14 minutes
Tests are marked by qualified IELTS examiners. All IELTS test centres are monitored and follow the IELTS Code of Practice to ensure a standardised testing and assessment system around the world”
Results are issued 13 calendar days after the test, with one test report form per candidate posted on that day.
Candidates who wish to collect their results in person may do so on the thirteenth calendar day. Collection of results are between 10am and 2pm. After that, all uncollected results will be posted.
If candidates are not able to attend the IELTS centre before 2 pm on the Friday, please contact the IELTS Test Centre at Melbourne Polytechnic.
Ensure you bring your passport or any other photo Identification that is clear and visible, for results to be released.
Candidates can arrange for the IELTS Test Centre at Melbourne Polytechnic to send an additional copy of their results to up to five other institutions or organisations only.
