We believe it is important for you to have access to traditional studio spaces so we have dedicated drawing rooms and finishing areas to balance your digital training. Many study areas include excursions to local cultural events and places and we regularly have visiting speakers from industry come to share their experiences with you.
Our staff are industry specialists to augment your training. We are all passionate educators who are excited about the way design skills are integrated into the lives of individuals. Our favourite thing is to see you complete your study and start your professional careers.
At the end of your study you’ll get the chance to show off your hard work. You will have a graduation exhibition where you can rub shoulders with our guests from industry and let your family and friends see your amazing transformation first hand.
During the Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design students may have access to practical placement opportunities based on performance. Our industry partners have been supportive of the program for over 30 years now and they are all strong believers in giving you a taste of what the real world is like. Where possible we like to give you the opportunity to see firsthand what working in an advertising agency, a design studio, a production house, or a multimedia studio is like so that you can imagine where you might like to work the most.
This program has 40 years of history and was one of the original providers of design education as the industry was forming in Australia in the 1970's and 1980's. We are proud that many of our graduates are now in top positions within industry. They have used their training opportunities to work hard and forge successful careers in advertising, design and production.
These connections are strong and our extended family enjoys a sense of loyalty and camaraderie. These relationships are maintained through ongoing practical placements and through networking at social events such as our graduate exhibitions. These two aspects in particular allow our alumni the opportunity to give something back and to share their invaluable experiences.
The first year of graphic design study is not only fun but extremely beneficial to you in learning just what it takes to get into the industry.
