The Student Ambassador Program is coordinated by Marketing and Corporate Communications and involves current Melbourne Polytechnic students working with the Student Recruitment Officer and participating in various schools activities, such as acting as a tour guide campus visits from secondary schools, speaking on student panels and assisting at career expos.
What is the Ambassador Program?
While the Student Recruitment Officer provides detailed and accurate course information to future students of Melbourne Polytechnic, current students make a valuable contribution by providing school students with a realistic view into what further study is really about. This involves not only course insight, but tertiary life as a whole: course options, social aspects, transitional issues and availability of support services.
What are the benefits of being a student ambassador?
A student ambassador gets many benefits including:
- a rate of pay of $15 per hour for the first year and $20 per hour for second year participants.
- training and professional development.
- leadership experience to include on resume.
- contribute to the Melbourne Polytechnic community.
Who can apply?
Applications are encouraged from both local and international Melbourne Polytechnic students from all campuses and various study areas.
More information can be found in the duty statement (below) or by contacting the Student Recruitment Officer. All candidates are required to complete an application form.
