Our nationally accredited Diploma of Remedial Massage allows you to build on your existing Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice qualification and gain the skills required to work as a successful massage therapist.

Learn trigger point therapy, myofascial release and deep tissue/cross fibre massage, lymphatic drainage and sports massage. Apply these skills to work in sports massage or to join a multi-disciplinary practice alongside chiropractors, physiotherapists or osteopaths.

Entrance RequirementsStudents must complete the Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice before enrolling in the diploma. For more information, applicants are encouraged to attend one of Melbourne Polytechnic's Information Nights.
Assessment MethodsQuestioning, practical demonstration, written tests, portfolio, reports, assignments/essays, previous or current experience, oral presentations.
MaterialsTextbook costs approximately $150. Some text books must be purchased as per book list. Students should expect to spend approximately $300 on further materials costs throughout the course. Miscellaneous items such as oils, polo top and class materials etc are also compulsory.
Pathways to further studyStudents who successfully complete the diploma (or equivalent) may continue study in the Advanced Diploma.
Career PathwaysEmployment can be gained through either self-employment or working with clubs, other health professions, hospitals, resorts and fitness centres.
