Hands-on industry experience puts you out in the field
The Diploma of Conservation and Ecosystem Management AHC51120 offers hands-on experience and practical skills taught by industry experts. You can’t protect the environment from a classroom alone, so you’ll be conducting field work in natural bush close to Epping campus and Northern Lodge training centre, and on specialised field trips to beautiful locations around Victoria.
Melbourne Polytechnic collaborates with key organisations including Darebin Parklands, Whittlesea City Council, Parks Victoria and Landcare to develop projects focused on real-world issues that provide you with unique experience before you’ve entered the workplace.

Melbourne Polytechnic offers a range of payment options to help you pay your tuition fees, so you can get on with your studies.
Fees displayed are effective for new applications received on or after 1st of November. Tuition fees do not include textbooks, course materials or overseas student health insurance and visa fees.
After initial deposit, international students are able to pay tuition fees in installments, four times per year.

Additional expenses
The Student Services and Amenities Fee is charged at forty cents (40 cents) per student contact hour and is capped over a twelve (12) month period, effective from the enrolment date, to:
- $250 for full fee-paying students; and
- $175 for concession-paying students studying Certificate I, II, III, or IV.
Amenities fees are used to improve non-academic services including libraries, counselling services, student support, and recreational activities.
The material fee will cover a four-day Conservation camp related to student assessments.

Requirements
No entry requirements. You must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test to enrol. Academic: International students are required to have an IELTS Academic overall score of 5.5 with no band score below 5.0 (or its equivalent); or completion of Australian Year 12 certificate; or a qualification undertaken in Australia at Certificate IV or higher and completed within the past 5 years; or university studies in Australia of at least 2 years duration or Melbourne Polytechnic recognised equivalency.Next Steps
