- provide design solutions for private residential dwellings
- use sketching presentation techniques to communicate design concepts
- produce 2D Architectural drawings using CAD software
- create technically projected views of Architectural design concepts

Achieve your dream while completing school. Melbourne Polytechnic offers selected units from the Certificate IV in Residential Drafting (partial completion) as part of its VET in Schools (VETiS) program, with results contributing to your ATAR score.
This course is designed to provide the opportunity to try a career field prior to leaving school, and allows you to make an informed choice for your career direction at the end of Year 12.
On completion of this program, students will have guaranteed entrance to the Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural).

Entrance RequirementsThis course is open to Year 12 secondary students as part of the VET in Schools (VETiS) program.
Assessment MethodsUnits are assessed in a variety of ways including tests, practical exercises, online assessment, case studies, demonstrations, observation or assignments.
MaterialsTexts will be prescribed by the department. A book list will be supplied on enrolment.
Pathways to further studyOn completion of this program, students will have guaranteed entrance to the Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural). This Advanced Diploma articulates into the Bachelor of Built Environment, with credit given for successful completion.
Career PathwaysThis course provides pathways to further Building Design and Architecture study areas at VET or university level.
