Entrance RequirementsCompletion of VCE or equivalent, or enrol as a mature age student. Prospective students may be required to attend an interview as part of the entrance requirement.
Please note: assessment in this course requires students to give and receive massage. Students who cannot meet this requirement for any reason should not enrol in this course. For more information, applicants are encouraged to attend one of Melbourne Polytechnic's Information Nights.
Assessment MethodsQuestioning, practical demonstration, written tests, portfolio, reports, assignments/essays, previous or current experience, oral presentations.
MaterialsTextbook costs approximately AU$150. Some text books must be purchased as per book list. Students should expect to spend approximately AU$300 on further materials throughout the duration of the course. Miscellaneous items such as oils, polo top and additional materials are also compulsory.
Pathways to further studyStudents who successfully complete Melbourne Polytechnic's Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice may continue study in the Diploma course.
