Eloise Thomson

Dr. Eloise Thomson is a senior lecturer and the Head of Program for the Bachelor of Education (Early Years and Primary) and Bachelor of Early Childhood Education programs. Drawing on her extensive background in kindergarten, primary education, and higher education, Elly's work is dedicated to advancing the field. Her teaching and research efforts are specifically directed towards early childhood education, building collaborative partnerships with families, leveraging new technologies, and ensuring the provision of high quality initial teacher education.

Currently Dr Eloise Thomson is the Head of Program at Melbourne Polytechnic (MP) and responsible for:

  • Leading the delivery of the Bachelor of Education programs
  • Delivering quality in Initial Teacher Education
  • Exercising academic leadership in securing TEQSA course Education accreditations
  • Leading academic initiatives and professional involvement with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA)
  • Providing leadership to both academic and administrative staff
  • Promoting scholarship, research, and innovation within the Education programs
  • Cultivating professional and industry relationships at local, national, and international levels
  • Engaging in research activities
  • Ensuring the delivery of a high-quality student experience

Eloise Thomson brings significant expertise in fostering a positive student experience with a focus on inclusion, social justice, and valuing diversity. Her academic and research endeavours revolve around early childhood education, cultivating collaborative partnerships with families, investigating the incorporation of new technologies, and the delivery of Initial Teacher Education.
